So now we know the real reason these contestants are able to drop huge numbers each week. It's not the exercise it is their calories, or lack there of. When is the dieting public going to realize that starving yourself and eating little to no fat is not only unhealthy it is unsatisfying.
Kristen, Ron and Sione were so excited to show Bob how their eating habits changed, if only they had changed for the better. From the calorie tallies I made I don't think they ate more than 1000 calories each and less than 8 ounces of protein. It makes you wonder how much of their weight loss is due to their bodies cannibalizing lean muscle mass instead of losing actual fat.

Last night on The Biggest Loser Laura was told that she had a stress fracture in her hip. The doctor told her that it was from the level of exercise that she was doing, she was training like an Olympic athlete instead of the out of shape overweight girl that she is.
While I like the weight loss results on this show I always cringe when I see the workouts that Bob and Jillian put these contestants through. It seems that the network executives at NBC have decided that just watching fat people sweat and gasp for breath is not interesting enough. Now we have to have them carry each other on their backs, lift 4-5 times their body weight, jump on and off a step stool and more.
As usual the hype of the previews for The Biggest Loser did not live up to my expectations. With the players being so into the game and winning the outcome of the food temptation challenge did not surprise me.
They players were not pigging out for the sake of pigging out. They were trying to win the golden ticket to make sure they could choose who would leave the house this week. I was disappointed that Laura won and was even more disappointed when she voted out Sione instead of Helen. Especially when it was obvious (at least from the edited footage) that Helen was trying to get Laura to vote out Tara. I wonder if Ron had fallen below the yellow line if she would have kept him.

I hope that this blog will offer inspiration and encouragement to you as lose weight or maintain your weight. I woke up this morning at 200 pounds! It took 2 months of staying at 207 and nothing I did made the scale move. I didn't give up though. In fact I took a couple of weeks off here and there from even going on the scale. I think that persistence is the key and a whole lot of patience. Tonight is the biggest loser! So look for my recap and comments tomorrow morning. Based on the previews it looks like its going to be a good one to watch.
