My Two Week JUDD Update

Author: LowCarbDiva Email  | Filed under: My Weight Loss, Weightloss Motivation with 441 words and 821 views

January 30, 2012

Sorry I did not post a weekly update on the 23rd like promised but I have been dealing with health issues of my own and back issues with DH.

So today marks two full weeks doing JUDD. I am pleased to report that I am down to 190 pounds. The scale I have is not digital so I have to really look at the numbers to see what I weigh and I think I was more than the 195 I posted when I started JUDD. But I will take the 5 pounds and in two more weeks we shall see if the magic of JUDD will continue.

So here is some basics about how I am eating....

Goodbye September Hello October

October 3, 2011 Day 27

Wow! I can't believe that it is already October. Time just flies by, doesn't it? Weight as of today is 190 pounds. Only 1 pound away from being out of the 190's and into the 180's.

It feels pretty good. I have not been 190 in over 15 years. That's a long time to be so fat. I am so thankful that hubby and myself made a commitment to lose weight 6 months ago. I also am looking forward to enjoying each ten pound milestone that I reach.

If you are still playing around with your weight loss stop it. In three months you could weigh less then you do right now.

With low carb I have the freedom to sometimes eat things like low carb pumpkin cheesecake, nachos without the chips with cheese and sour cream, almond flour pound cake, even low carb wraps (only once in a blue moon cause I don't like the soy) and so much more.

Start today. It's not easy sometimes but it is so worth it!

Fall Is In The Air

September 7, 2011 Day 23

Woke up this morning to temps below 60 degrees and it looks like summer is almost out of here. Can't say I will miss the 90-100 degree temps we had for most of July and into August. As strange as it may seem there is a briskness and coolness that you can almost smell.

The days are getting a bit shorter and I cannot wait for the leaves to start changing colors. This is my favorite time of the year.

So I am not 190 pounds like I thought. I don't have a digital scale so nearsighted as I am even with glasses I misread the scale. Honestly I have been up and down 2-5 pounds so I will wait to post my weight on Sunday.

Here's to renewed commitment and losing as much as possible from now until the end of the year.

Down 1/2 Pound This Morning

Author: LowCarbDiva Email  | Filed under: My Weight Loss, Motivation with 96 words and 430 views

July 27, 2011 Day 2

Well it's still hot as blazes here but I am happy to report that I am down 1/2 pound this morning.

Will I see onderland by the end of the week and the end of the month? Or will that diabolical scale make me wait until August to finally realize my dream of being under 200 pounds.

Stay tuned for further updates as the week progresses. Monday starts the beginning of a new 30 day challenge and marks month six of my weight loss challenges. Hard to believe I have been doing this for 150 days.

Protein, Calorie & BMI Calculators Can Derail Your Weightloss

Author: LowCarbDiva Email  | Filed under: My Weight Loss, Motivation with 275 words and 364 views

July 25, 2011 Day 4

Since my weight is once again stalled and I am still not under 200 pounds I was thinking a lot about protein and calories requirements over the weekend.

I spent some time researching how much protein I should be eating and have come to the conclusion that most protein calculators are wrong and can be causing those who are trying to lose weight to stall.

I can eat a fair amount of protein but my weight stays the same. Thus a reduction in protein is needed to start the weight loss again.

I read a post that someone said you should not feed your fat. Which makes sense. Your protein requirements should be based on your lean body mass not your total body mass. Lean body mass should be found by what your ideal or normal body weight would be not your current body weight.

All those body building forums that try to tell you to eat .5 to 1 gram of body weight are just nonsense. I could never lose weight eating that much protein.

BTW today is Day 4 of my 5 Month weight loss challenge. On July 30th I will be starting on Month 6 of my weight loss challenge. I cannot believe that it has been almost 5 months since I started. The time really does go by fast and it is up to you if you want to spend your time binging on carbs and fast food or if you want to do something for yourself and get the weight off.

Losing weight is hard especially when you hit stalls but the rewards of getting the weight that is so uncomfortable is well worth it.
