So today marks my third week on JUDD! Weight loss is going great and my clothes are baggier. I will post a weight update next Monday.
Down days are still a little tricky as sometimes the hunger can get a little intense, but I know that lack of sleep or stress can make hunger elevated and I have been dealing with both lately.
This weekend I made coconut flour pancakes. If you love pancakes but don't want all the carbs associated with the regular kind I recommend that you try these. They were so yummy. A lot of work for breakfast but so good with some breakfast sausage. I used 1 tsp of honey for flavor and butter.
Here is the link for making these tasty treats:
Coconut Flour Pancakes Recipe
If you make them let me know how you like them. This recipe makes 16 pancakes and a total of 4 servings with 249 calories per serving and 9.8 grams of carbs. So 996 calories and 39.2 carbs for the entire recipe.

So today is Day 4 on JUDD and I am slowly starting to like this plan. I have to admit the thought of eating only 500 calories scared me to death; but so far I have 2 DD (down days) under my belt and am starting to feel a bit more confident.
I will post more on Monday....

After a year of pretty steady and consistent low carbing Atkins style I have finally decided that while low carb is great for blood sugar regulation it is not the best plan for consistent weight loss.
I wish I was one of those people who could cut carbs and lose 1-2 pounds a week. But truthfully unless I lower the calories to where I am hungry all the time it just takes too long.
I know there are many who are doing low carb and struggling like me so maybe this will be something that can work for others also.
I will still be doing low carb but have changed from Atkins to JUDD (Johnson's Up Day Down Day Diet). Google it if you want more details and information.
Today is my first day and it is a down day. I am a bit hungry but not like I thought I would be. It will be interesting.
Current Weight: 195. I will be posting my weight once a week. My goal is to lose 1-3 pounds a week consistently.

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. Today I am going to celebrate tiny milestones cause that is all I have right now.
Did I cheat over Christmas? Yes. But the good news is I did not make it a complete junk food blow out from Thanksgiving until New Years like I normally do. Instead I had a week on plan and a week off. You know how that goes.
I guess I really just can't have one Christmas cookie! Next year if they get made (and I am strongly considering not doing it) they will be shipped off to family the same day or packaged and boxed to ship the next day.
It is frightening how much weight a person can gain when they start pigging out on junk food. Last year when I went on a carb binge from Halloween until almost the end of January I must have gained 60-70 pounds. This year I only gained 20. Which is depressing but on the bright side I won't have as much to lose again.
So here is my plan...
November 17, 2011 Day 14
Well I'm back. It's been 16 days and yes I am still alive and kicking. The holidays are always the worst time of the year. I always feel like there should be some feeling of warmth and good tidings that I should be expressing and yet every year I fail. Miserably.
Each year I try and recreate those Christmas memories by eating a bunch of crap and then kicking myself January 1st for gaining back a bunch of weight. But not this year.
The holidays can take a hike. If I could I would hibernate from now until January 2nd.
Business is slow, the economy sucks and every time I turn around there is candy, cake, and cookies taunting me with there carby goodness.
So I have been working alongside my husband to get sales and generate revenue for Christmas and meanwhile I just want to say screw the holidays. But we need the Christmas sales to get through and pay bills.
So back to work I go. I will post when the mood strikes but don't count on it that often. I am declaring myself the Christmas Grinch this year.
