New Exercise Challenge for This Week

Author: LowCarbDiva Email  | Filed under: Exercise with 238 words and 493 views

June 13, 2011 Day 16

I admit I have been a bit lax in regards to exercising the past couple of weeks and as a result my weight has not budged. This week I am starting a new exercise challenge which I am hoping will restart my weight loss!

I will be doing body weight and weight training 3 days a week! Exercise bike the rest of the week for 30 minutes per day. And if I can convince my hubby walking at least one day a week (we have some killer hills where we live).

I don't know if this will help as many low carbers believe that exercise should be avoided at all costs...

Donkey Kicks Really Work the Glutes

May 26, 2011 - Day 3

I know most of you have probably heard that spot reducing does not work and that fat loss is what reshapes your body. I disagree. I believe that weight bearing exercises such as push ups, donkey kicks, squats, etc can do wonders for your body shape; even when you are not losing actual fat.

Exercise Sucks! But Do It Anyway

Author: LowCarbDiva Email  | Filed under: Welcome, Motivation, Exercise with 131 words and 779 views

I loathe exercise and all the sweating and heavy breathing that goes along with it, but I do love the results.

You don't have to workout for 5-6 hours a day like they do on The Biggest Loser to see results. Just 7-30 minutes a day is plenty.

3 Days a week of cardio, 3 days of resistance/weight training and 1 day of rest.

Here's a tip that works when you find yourself making excuses about exercise: Just start out with the 7 minute minimum and every minute you go past that up until 30 will be an added bonus. Trust me it worls because you know you can stop anytime after the 7 minutes are up.

You'll feel better and your heart and muscles will thank you. Plus you will increase your stamina and endurance.

Weigh in Results for Week One

Author: LowCarbDiva Email  | Filed under: Welcome, My Weight Loss with 160 words and 470 views

May 17, 2009

Yesterday was the end of week one in the Summer Weight Loss Boot Camp. I am pleased to report that I am down 1 pound. After having been stalled for the past 5 weeks or so I'll gladly take it.

What have I been doing differently? I started counting calories. Yes the dreaded chore that many people trying to lose weight have to do. Unfortunately with my lean body mass and fat ratio I cannot eat 2,000 calories a day and lose weight. I can maintain on this, but I must eat under 1400 calories to lose.

Exercise is pretty much the same: 3 days of weight training which is just pushups, squats and lunges (along with 15 minutes of cardio) as I don't have a gym membership and don't want one. Plus 3 days of cardio for 30 minutes.

If you have not started yet join this challenge today as the new week starts right now.

Only you can make the decision to change your body.

Step One To Losing Weight

I'm not going to bore you by talking about commitment and motivation, because lets face it, once you decide once and for all that you are tired of your thighs rubbing together and giving you a skin burn nothing will stop you. Right?

Wrong. The truth is that no matter how much we want to lose weight the motivation and commitment will leave most of us the minute we smell a fresh baked cookie or a plate of french fries. This has happened to me more than once and believe me after you have eaten whatever junk you so desperately wanted you will console your self with this lie: I can start tomorrow. Sure this is easier to say once your stomach is stuffed and you have satisfied that sugar/carb craving.

Believe me that no matter how bad you feel after you've pigged out it will still be hard to start this diet or any diet. Your body will crave it; your mind will make bargains and deals. What you have to do is find that resolve deep inside yourself to ignore it. If you do, trust me, the feeling will pass.

Here is what I want you to do.
