May 31, 2011 Day 29

I hope everyone had a low carb and fun Memorial Day Weekend. Why is it so hard to get back to work after a three day weekend?

Today starts the second day of my fourth 30 day challenge. For this challenge forward I will be weighing myself once a week (and only once a week) in order to determine the progress I am making with getting the weight off once and for all. I am looking to lose at minimum one pound a week but would love to see 2-3 pounds a week of loss on the scale.

So my Current Weight is...

May 26, 2011 - Day 3

I know most of you have probably heard that spot reducing does not work and that fat loss is what reshapes your body. I disagree. I believe that weight bearing exercises such as push ups, donkey kicks, squats, etc can do wonders for your body shape; even when you are not losing actual fat.

What Are Your Doing for Memorial Day?

May 24, 2011 - Day 5

Memorial Day is this Monday and I am happy to report that Monday will start my New 30 Day Challenge. This will be my fourth month of clean low carb eating with no cheats! It's funny how turning forty can make you suddenly decide that the time to lose the weight is now, not in five or ten years.

Memorial Day and the Fourth of July are a lowcarbers dream holidays. BBQ, Coleslaw (without sugar), a huge salad with all the fixins, and anything else you can dream up. I don'e even care about the dessert part. Losing weight has been too uch of a challenge for me to even consider giving into the temptation.

I don't want to be fat and frumpy at forty. Instead I choose to be fit, fabulous and forty. I may not get there on my birthday but I will be a lot closer to that goal than if I cheated and ate every cupcake, slice of pizza, etc that call my name. And believe me they sometimes call me at least ten times a day.

My Boobs Have Found A New Home

May 23, 2011 - Day 6

I have been putting off shopping for clothes for quite some time now but decided yesterday that it was time to get a new bra. Yes the girls are now a bit more perky and happier:D! Seriously though a proper fitting bra can make you look better, stand a little bit taller and make you look thinner. If you are like me and have been putting off buying new clothes until you reach your goal weight, consider buying a bra that fits properly. Who knew that it is the band not the straps that give the girls a little lift. You may not be eighteen anymore but the right bra can make you feel like you are. Just Google: finding your correct bra size for tips and hints.

Where's The Zipper On This Fat Suit?

May 20, 2011 - Day 9

I have been morbidly obese for at least 15 years. Not because of some medical reson but because I ate lots of junk. Not only did my waistline expand but I also stopped taking care of myself. I never bothered with makeup or doing my hair. My clothes resembled something a bag lady would wear and I just never thought about how I looked. Nor did I care.

This time I care but I do not want to buy a bunch of fat clothes that in a few months may be too big on me (fingers crossed). I wish I could do one of those I Dream of Jeannie head nods and fast forward 6 months from now where I know I will be a lot smaller than I am right now. So what is the solution?
