Day 30 Starts the New Weight Loss Challenge

April 29, 2011 - Day 30 of New Weight Loss Challenge

Today starts my third 30 Day Weight Loss Challenge. This next 30 days will be exciting and I cannot wait to see how my body shrinks this month. If you are looking to start losing weight, this is a great chance to join me on a 30 Day Challenge.

The rules are simple: No Bread, No Sugar, No Junk Food and No Cheats. Exercise is up to you. I am trying to do 3 days of weight bearing exercise, 15 minutes of peak 8 on those days and the rest of the week light peddling on the exercise bike for 30 minutes.

Speaking of weight loss I have been watching Jimmy Moore's struggles with weight loss (after a significant weight gain) and I have to say his speedy gains after eating carbs have me concerned. Maintenance is the hardest part of any weight loss program and it seems just when I think he has found what works and is losing weight consistently he goes and eats a bunch of carbs and gains back 5-6 pounds in one week.

I believe his gains may not all be actual fat but rather glycogen stores being replenished (i.e water weight). Of course if you look at his carb loading menus for the past few days I believe he is taking that to the extreme when he is trying to lose weight. I think if you have a sweet potato with dinner there is no need for the bread, zucchini, spinach and butter, etc. all in the same meal.

I do not think his tests for carb limits can ever hope to be accurate because he introduces too many variables at one time instead of adding in one item per week as Atkins suggested to see how it affects his weight.

Just my two cents as I have watched Jimmy's struggles for 2 years now. Let me know what you think.

April 28, 2011 - Day 0 Weight Loss Challenge

Today is the final day of my 30 Day Weight Loss Challenge. I can't believe that another 30 days has passed! But there will be no breaks in between for me. I am starting another 30 Day Challenge tomorrow 4/29/11.

Join me for 30 days of clean low carb eating and moderate exercise.

Tonight's dinner will be beef short ribs, slow cooked with tomato sauce and green beans.

This week seems to be going by so slow! I can't wait to start my next 30 day weight loss challenge on 4/29/11. Join me and lose weight.

Tonight for dinner I will be dining on Baked Chicken with the delicious crispy skin on and asparagus cooked in olive oil and butter. So yummy.

April 26, 2011 Day 2 Weight Loss Challenge

I hope that everyone enjoyed their Easter Weekend. If you succumbed to chocolate, jelly beans and other sinful Easter desserts and treats hopefully you are now back to your low carb eating. If you are still eating junk, stop it! That's right I am talking to you. Put down that one pound solid chocolate bunny and get inspired with how good you could look this time next year. Not to mention how much better you will feel.

I can't believe that I only have two more days after today and I will have completed my second 30 Day Weight Loss Challenge. My clothes are looser but that dang fat pack of mine is still holding up my size 26 jeans.

It is really unbelievable to me how I can fit into a size 22 now but the size 26's will just not fall off of me. I don't mean to whine, but I am going to whine.

I expect to see major changes in my size and clothes over the next 30 Day Challenge, which starts on April 29th.

Anyone is welcome to join me as I try and break new fat loss territory in my quest to get under a size 20 and lose more weight.

Day 6 Enjoy Your Easter Weekend

April 22, 2011 - Day 6 Weight Loss Challenge

This Easter Weekend don't be tempted by all the sugar laden goodies that people enjoy this time of the year. Instead focus on eating right and losing weight. I can't wait until I start my new 30 Day Challenge on April 29th.

Although I have blogged before about how time seems to slow down when you are trying to lose weight. I am also amazed that it will now be 2 months of low carb eating for me in just a few days. I wonder how much more weight I would have gained in the past two months had I not made a commitment to eat low carb and lose the weight.

If you have not made your commitment to yourself yet I invite you to start your own 30 day challenge today. Don't wait until tomorrow or after you have eaten your fill of chocolate bunnies, peanut butter eggs and peeps. Trust me it will not be any easier on Monday.

Starting is the hardest part, especially the first few weeks when you are going off of the sugar. Just try and focus on how you want to look and feel and white knuckle it until the cravings go away!
