That Girl With Her Head In A Bag Of Splenda Tainted Cookies Is Me

Well the first few weeks of June have not been kind to this Diva. Finding out that you have been making major mistakes in your diet and that it could be causing harm is a sobering and somewhat depressing experience.

How I wish I could tell y'all that this little Diva handled this setback with grace and dignity. Unfortunately I can't. I fell head first into bags of Sugar, Splenda Chemically manufactured cookies and ice cream bars.

I have been doing this for a year and it is humbling to see how life can still wreak havoc on my weight loss and eating habits.

I have not been on the scale but I am sure that the numbers are up there.

So I am trying to get my head back in the game and have decided that my motto of butter first and fatty steak second has got to go.

I will be adding more olive oil, upping my veggie carbs to between 30-50 a day, leaner cuts of meat, not having steak and ground beef everyday, a little wild caught salmon (although the jury is still out on whether wild caught on the can is in fact wild caught and not farm raised and than released into the water to be caught and labeled as such). No eggs for 10 days to check for allergies to them too. Breakfast is now my least favorite meal of the day since it is such a pain to come up with a protein and fat source that feels breakfasty.

If you have not had your CRP (C-Reactive Protein) tested it is a good idea as inflammation can cause heart problems.

Wish me luck!

I'm sure I would do something similar if I saw my CRP going up, but can you find any studies linking and increase in CRP with saturated fat or eggs? I can't.

Yes upon doing research I have found that the meat if it is not grass fed has a very
high level of omega 6 in it and this must be balanced with lots of green leafy veggies
and the fish (I am still debating on adding more fish oil since it is so pricey).
This same goes with the butter if not from grass fed cows. So know I will have butter
sometimes but not every day like I was doing. And not until the CRP goes back down.
I will be testing it again in 4-6 weeks. I did not realize that the protein and butter
I was consuming had so much omega 6.
