Apparently 3-6 Pounds A Month is Normal

Well the Summer Boot Camp Weight Loss Challenge is over and I lost 3 pounds for the month!

That's 3 pounds less I now have to lose but boy oh boy do I long for the days of eating 500 calories a day and losing 20 pounds a month.

3 pounds a month is just a tad to slow for me. I need to lose at least 6 to reach my goals. After all I am not getting any younger here.

For the next 4 weeks I will be keeping my calories at around 1400 and change up my exercise routine. More resistance training and maybe a few 2-3 second sprints here and there.

I will keep y'all updated weekly on my progress. Good luck to everyone and may this month bring us all fat loss (even if the scale doesn't reflect it).

Good for you! If you lose 3-6 lbs a month, it's almost certainly FAT loss! And that's what you want. Lose more, and it's stuff the body will FIGHT to put back on. You're in a good place! A perfect place.

I speak from experience. I lost over 70 lbs. at a rate of 0-3 a month AND I've kept that weight loss off for 9+ years. If you lose FAT, it's happy to stay gone. If you lose other stuff (long list of what you can burn, sadly), you'll regain the weight. Who wants that?

You might want to try high intensity intervals and hills for your cardio and get rid of any steady state cardio you are doing. I've read a couple of stories in the last few months of research saying that long steady state cardio isn't nearly as good for you as the high burst of interval training and random hills.

Also, I thought 1-2 pounds a week was a good rule of thumb.
