| « Are You Going To Spend Your Life Being Fat? | Stress Is A Diet Killer - Don't Let It Be » |

I was flipping through the channels on the TV yesterday and caught the last minute or so of celebrity fit club. The host was commenting that "The Scale Doesn't Lie" or something to that effect. While most of us (including me) track our progress by the number on the scale. The truth is that sometimes your body is changing weight and losing fat even though the number on the scale stays the same.
This is true especially if you are doing any type of resistance training. Your body may be getting a little leaner and reshaping itself but the scale shows no loss even though your clothes may be bigger or you feel thinner.
I wish I was brave enough to throw the scale away, but I think that weekly weighing is a still important tool in tracking your overall progress. If you don't show a loss for 2-4 weeks or more (you decide on the time frame) it may be time to do some serious calorie counting or tweaking on your plan.
Perseverance is the key to success with any weight loss plan. Cheer your 1 pound or even 1/2 pound successes and don't minimize them.
