Did you make it through the weekend without blowing your new way of eating or did you pig out and tell yourself that you will start today? I stuck to my way of eating this weekend and I am happy to say I no longer use bad news or states of emergency such as a flu pandemic, snowstorm or pending tornado as an excuse to stock up on junk food and eat until I burst.
If I knew how much harder it would be to lose weight this time around I would have maintained my 100 pound weight loss 20 years ago. Instead I ate my way up from 110 pounds to 307 pounds (that's an extra 100 pounds from where I was originally).
Each time you lose weight and then regain it seems to take longer the next time. This is especially true if you are older and have grown more metabolically resistant. Granted it is not impossible but it will require all of your focus and effort. It has almost felt like a full time job at times as I try to take off each pound, but I try and look at it in 10 pound increments as it makes the process a little more manageable.
